FORGE Hydrocarbons Lipid to Hydrocarbons (LTH) technology is available for licensing in most places on this planet.
FORGE’s patented LTH technology is capable of transforming waste fats and other low value organic oils into hydrocarbons that are indistinguishable from petroleum-based hydrocarbons, without any catalyst or hydrogen. The LTH technology utilizes a robust integrated biorefining approach to produce true hydrocarbon fuels, solvents, and chemicals.
The LTH technology uses pressure and temperature, like the geological conditions the Earth uses to create crude oil over millions of years... except in hours.
FORGE’s corporate goal is to build, own and operate RENEWABLE FUELS facilities in North America either on its own or in strategic partnerships as well as license the technology to industry players in the Rest of the World.
This technology offers substantial emission reductions compared to production and combustion emissions of traditional petroleum based hydrocarbons. There are also potential reductions in NOx, SOx and PM due to a combination of the production process and the anticipated better combustion properties of the renewable diesel fuel produced.
A FORGE facility can achieve a 4 year pay back….. more importantly it can be the LOW COST provider in a mandated, growing industry. Renewable Diesel is a molecule that the oil and gas industry wants. Due to current technologies (hydrogen and catalyst and feedstock), oil and gas companies are paying a premium for renewable diesel over biodiesel. This premium is a much as 25-30%. FORGE’s operating costs is the same (or less) on a per-gallon (or litre) scale than biodiesel (total costs est. less than $0.40/gallon).
Over the past 20 years, fats and oils (feedstock) have been trading in a very organized fashion. Feedstock is 80% of the cost of goods sold for renewables/biodiesel. With all other variables held even, a 30% saving in feedstock equals a 25% margin improvement. FORGE’s technology works best with lower quality, thus cheaper feedstocks that delivers this 30% cost savings compared to Soy and Corn oil.
Most other renewable diesel technologies typically utilize hydrogen, or other complex processes that appear to have capital costs that exceed FORGE LTH technology by significantly more. These factors add to the economic advantage already achieved over the lower margins of other renewable and biodiesel producers.
